Kawartha Montessori School staff have a deep respect for children and view them as unique individuals. Our administrative staff are committed to all day-to-day operations of the school and play an integral role in maintaining a strong team. We employ highly qualified teachers with experience appropriate to the subjects and ages taught. We take the preparation of our teachers’ minds as seriously as the students.
Staff receive professional development opportunities such as conferences, workshops, and courses throughout each year to enhance their learning, knowledge and experience. This in turn hones their practice and enriches the classrooms. We are proud to have Montessori teachers who have graduated at the top of their class from the Toronto Montessori Institute, Montessori Teachers College, and Association Montessori Internationale.
All of our Montessori trained teachers received Montessori teacher training that meets the standards of the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators, at an institute approved by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) or the Association Montessori Internationale. Many teaching staff hold a Bachelor of Education degree in addition to Montessori training. Our Casa Classroom Assistants are educated and experienced in the area specific to the needs of children between the ages of 2 and 6 years of age. KMS Specialist Instructors in both the French and Arts programs have extensive experience, training, and education.
All staff are chosen for their outstanding ability to work well with children.
