UE News Week of April 30-May 4th

This week:

Wow, it’s been a busy time! We made it through CAT testing quite well the last couple of weeks and we were so fortunate to have had Dave Patton come in and speak to the students about Astrobiology. What an incredibly fascinating field and we thank Dave very much for sharing his expertise with us! This week started off with a bang – Expert Day, and what a great day it was! We were very proud of our students and we hope you were too. Thank you for coming and supporting their hard work. Today was our UE Spelling Bee and it was exciting and tense! We ended up in a 4 way tie for second place! After a nail-biting “spell-off”, our winners that will be going on to represent KMS in the Rotary Spelling Bee are: Mishka Nazarani in 1st place, Noelle Patton in 2nd place, and Victoria Tinney in 3rd place (in case one of the other two cannot participate). We also want to give Mishka a huge thank you for creating a computer coding program that ran our spelling bee so efficiently. Way to go, Mishka! Congratulations to all our students who tried really hard, and took their participation in our spelling bee seriously!

Next week:

We are excited to welcome Jenni Johnston from The Art School of Peterborough on Wednesday May 9th for a Pottery Workshop. So much fun! She will also return on Wednesday May 23rd with our creations so we can complete the process.
