This Week:
Wow, what a full week in Upper Elementary! On Tuesday, we had an amazing Halloween potluck and boy, were there a lot of yummy treats to be had! The students had a lot of fun and we thank all our families for helping their children prepare for our feast.
We had fantastic guests this week as well! On Wednesday, Steve from the YMCA returned to speak with us about Media Literacy. He put on an informative and interesting presentation about how advertising works and who they target with their messages. The answer was kids just like them! The message to take away was to try and make informed decisions when buying products and services. Also on Wednesday, we had Kaitlin (Kristi’s daughter) and her friend Jordan come to KMS for “Take you kid to work day”. They are both Grade 9 students in the Drama Arts program at TAS and they did a great job. For our gym period, Kaitlin led our students in a step-by-step choreography session and the students did an awesome job learning the dance! Afterwards, Jordan and Kaitlin led the group in some outdoor games. So much fun!
Next week:
On Wednesday November 8th, we will be welcoming representatives from the Hastings Royal Canadian Legion. They will be talking with our students about why it is so important for us to remember. On Friday the 10th, we will hold our annual whole school KMS Remembrance Ceremony. Students from each level will be part of this presentation, which will end at 11 am with a playing of Taps and a moment of silence.
Lest We Forget.
Have a good weekend.
